A View from the Bridge is a gripping modern classic that explores codes of honour and love, justice and law, and asks what happens when desire, jealousy, and betrayal collide.

Set in 1950s Brooklyn, Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge follows longshoreman Eddie Carbone, a proud family man whose world begins to unravel when two of his wife’s cousins arrive from Italy.

As Eddie welcomes the newcomers into his home, tensions rise when one of them falls in love with his niece, Catherine.

What begins as an act of generosity and family duty soon becomes a dangerous struggle with jealousy, desire and betrayal.

This absorbing modern classic is a gripping exploration of honour, justice and love, building with devastating inevitability towards tragedy.

A View from the Bridge plays at People’s Theatre Tuesday 29 September – Saturday 3 October 2026. Tickets are available here.
