Multi-award winning theatre maker, Rachel Mars, brings her acclaimed solo show to Harrogate Comedy Festival on Friday 9 October 2026.

Your Sexts Are Shit is a gloriously rude show that unearths the hot-as-hell historical letters that make sexts blush. With the help of the internet, friends and two sexologists, Rachel has unearthed missives dating back centuries.

Triangulating these sex and love letters of long dead artists and writers with contemporary sexts, and a meditation on the construction of the queer female body, the show is a tender and surprising hour that asks – how do we write ourselves and for whom?

“Mars raises a toast to the human libido, elevating the carnal alongside the cerebral. In her hands, intimate human connection seems such a wondrous thing. Stirs your soul as much as your senses”

“A triumphant Show…dripping with uninhibited desire”

★★★★ THE GUARDIAN – SHOWS WE RECOMMEND

Bring your lovers, your ex-lovers or your perhaps-future lovers! Take pleasure in James Joyce’s passion for arse, find out who sneaked her gay lover into the White House, hear from Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Mozart and bear witness to the best/worst sexts ever sent.  This delightfully intimate, very funny and surprisingly moving show is an erotic archive shot through with Rachel’s personal ventures in contemporary Queer kink.

Rachel Mars is a performance maker, stage and screen writer with a background in theatre, live art and comedy. Her work wrestles with female, Jewish and Queer identities and their intersections. She explores the idiosyncratic cultural and political constructs that inform the way we are together, as people, just trying to figure it all out.

Rachel Mars: Your Sexts Are Sh*t to Harrogate Theatre on Friday 9 October 2026. Tickets are available here.
