Cast shortlisted for Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award at Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards 2025

Cast has been named a finalist in the Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award at the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards 2025. This shortlisting recognises Cast’s pioneering approach to making theatre, creativity, and culture accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or background.

It’s not an add-on; it’s embedded in everything we do. This recognition celebrates the dedication of our staff, our Access Focus Group, and our community, who are helping us make our theatre in Doncaster truly for everyone.

The Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award celebrates organisations that excel in creating welcoming environments for all visitors. Cast’s commitment includes step-free access, sensory spaces, BSL-interpreted and relaxed performances, free carer tickets, and a thriving Access Membership Scheme. These initiatives have transformed audience confidence and made Cast a national example of inclusive practice.

In 2024 alone, Cast welcomed more than 2,000 carers free of charge, introduced a new Sensory Nook for neurodiverse visitors, and delivered record-breaking accessible performances. Community projects such as Public Acts and Our Freedom: Then and Now have brought together hundreds of local residents, artists, and organisations, proving that creativity can break down barriers and build belonging.
