Actors and legal experts take to the stage to shine the spotlight on workplace harassment 

Hull Truck Theatre and Wilkin Chapman Rollits will come together to deliver an insightful  workshop entitled “Recognising Harassment” as part of Humber Business Week 2026 line up this June.

The session on Wednesday 3 June will be facilitated by Hull Truck Theatre’s Associate  Director, Tom Saunders and utilise the skills of professional actors to perform a series of  realistic workplace scenarios exploring how unwanted conduct can amount to harassment. 

Important legal insight will be provided by Wilkin Chapman Rollits employment law  specialists to give context and deepen understanding, including how to identify psychological  abuse, cyberbullying and microaggressions at work.

The event is particularly timely in light of new protections against harassment, introduced by  the Employment Rights Act 2025. From April 2026, disclosures about sexual harassment  have been covered by whistleblowing protections, and further changes are due to come into  force from October 2026.

A recent survey of UK employees found that 28% had experienced bullying or harassment at  work in the past year, while nearly 60% of those affected chose not to report it.*

This workshop follows the successful “Unconscious Bias” training event that was delivered  as part of last year’s Humber Business Week line-up and uses the same techniques and  principle as the theatre’s award-winning GP Training programme.
