People’s Theatre – New Season!

We are now on our summer break here at the People’s, so we just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your support over our Spring/Summer Season.

Of course, the break doesn’t mean we are resting on our laurels and rehearsals are already underway for the opening play of our new Season!

Below is a list of what we’ve got coming up September 2026 – February 2027.

We’re excited to bring audiences an exciting mix of comedy, drama, classics, contemporary new writing, and a fun-filled Panto.

The Wasp by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm

• Monday 7 – Saturday 12 September 2026 (Studio)
• An awkward reunion of two schoolmates exposes shared needs, and when a proposition is made the consequences will be deadly. A nail-biting psychological thriller.

A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller

• Tuesday 29 September – Saturday 3 October 2026 (Main Stage)
• In 1950s Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone has his family and loyalties pushed to breaking point in Arthur Miller’s modern classic.

Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay, adpt by Tom Wright

• Memory and myth collide when three schoolgirls and their teacher vanish at an Australian beauty spot.

2:22 – A Ghost Story by Danny Robins

• Is Jenny and Sam’s new house haunted? If everyone can stay awake until 2:22, then they’ll know …
• Fear, belief, and scepticism in this stage phenomenon, perfect for the run up to Halloween.

Young People’s Theatre: But Why Bump Off Barnaby? by Rick Abbot

• Thursday 5 – Saturday 7 November 2026 (Studio)

Noises Off by Michael Frayn

• Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 November 2026 (Main Stage)

The Lion in Winter by James Goldman

• Monday 23 – Saturday 28 November 2026 (Studio)

Panto: Beauty and the Beast by Tom Whalley

• Saturday 12 – Sunday 20 December 2026 (Main Stage)
• A tale as old as Pantomime! Laughter, music, and monstrous fun for all the family!

Murder on the Nile by Agatha Christie

• Tuesday 12 – Saturday 16 January 2027 (Main Stage)
• The tranquillity of a honeymoon cruise is shattered by a brutal murder in this riveting whodunnit. 

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Jay Presson Allen, adpt from the novel by Muriel Spark

• Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 February 2027 (Main Stage)
• Miss Brodie is no ordinary teacher in this compelling and unsettling portrait of loyalty, authority, and betrayal.
